For more than 30 years, the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation has invested more than $21 million in communities in the northern part of New York state.
Now, the foundation is making a big donation of its own.
The Buffalo News reports that the foundation, which was incorporated in 1986, has made a $1 million donation to the Westfield Fund.

The money will be used to create a scholarship in the name of one of the first responders to die in the line of duty.
